Is Beaches Resorts Worth It for Families?
If you’ve started researching an all-inclusive Caribbean family vacation, there’s a good chance Beaches Resorts has already appeared in your search.
And then comes the bigger question:
Is Beaches Resorts actually worth it?
The answer isn’t the same for every family.
Beaches offers a long list of family-focused inclusions, including dining, Kids Camps, waterparks, entertainment, land and water sports, Wi-Fi and airport transfers, depending on the resort.
But as travel advisors, we wouldn’t recommend a resort based solely on how many things are included.
We’d look at whether those things matter to your family.
Here are 10 questions we’d consider before recommending a Beaches vacation.
1. How Old Are Your Children?
Start here, not with the resort.
The experience a family needs when traveling with young children can look very different from a vacation with teenagers.
That’s one reason we ask who’s traveling before we start narrowing down resorts.
Beaches offers supervised Kids Camps with spaces for children and teens to play and participate in activities.
But the question isn’t simply whether a kids program exists.
Will your children actually enjoy what’s available?
2. What Does “All-Inclusive” Actually Include at Beaches?
This is where Beaches can become particularly interesting for families.
Depending on the resort, the experience can include:
Dining at up to 21 restaurants, up to 14 bars, waterparks, Kids Camps, land and water sports, live entertainment, golf, airport transfers, tips and Wi-Fi.
That sounds impressive, and it is.
But we still ask families which of those amenities they’ll actually use.
Value isn’t simply getting more. It’s getting more of what matters to you.
3. Will the Adults Enjoy Beaches Too?
This is one of the biggest things we’d consider.
A family resort shouldn’t feel like you’ve booked a week-long children’s vacation that the parents happen to attend.
Kids Camps and children’s activities can give younger travelers their own experiences while parents have opportunities to enjoy the resort themselves.
When we’re comparing family resorts, we’re looking for a balance:
Will the kids be excited AND will the adults feel like they’re on vacation?

4. Does Your Family Need Autism-Friendly Vacation Options?
This is an important differentiator families may not initially know about.
Beaches Resorts has earned Autism Certification from IBCCES, and its team is trained to support children with autism and other special needs, including through tailored activities and dining options.
If your family has specific needs, this is something we’d discuss in much more detail during the planning process rather than assuming every resort experience will work the same way.
5. Will Your Kids Actually Use the Waterpark?
Every Beaches Resort features a Pirates Island Waterpark, with features including waterslides, lazy rivers and swim-up soda bars.
For some families, that’s a HUGE selling point.
For another family?
Maybe not.
And that’s exactly why we don’t believe resort recommendations should be one-size-fits-all.
6. Does Your Family Want More Than Pool and Beach Time?
Beaches also includes numerous activities beyond the traditional resort experience.
For example, certified divers can participate in its all-inclusive scuba program, which includes access to more than 240 dive sites. Beginners can also try a PADI Discover Scuba course at the resort.
For an adventurous family, inclusions like these can change the value equation considerably.
7. Which Beaches Resort Should You Choose?
This may be more important than simply deciding whether you want to stay at Beaches.
The Beaches material highlights properties including Beaches Turks & Caicos and Beaches Negril, each offering a different destination experience.
Instead of asking:
“Is Beaches good?”
We’d rather ask:
“Which option makes the most sense for this family?”
8. What Will It Take to Get There?
This is where travel advisor knowledge goes beyond a resort brochure.
The resort is only one part of the vacation.
We also consider your departure airport, available flight options, travel dates, trip length and how the journey fits your family.
A beautiful resort doesn’t automatically equal an easy family vacation.

9. Is Beaches Worth It for a Multigenerational Vacation?
Potentially, yes, and this is an area worth considering.
Beaches specifically accommodates occasions including family reunions, milestone birthdays, weddings and honeymoons.
For a multigenerational family, having activities for different ages in one resort can be particularly appealing.
But room configurations, budgets and everyone’s priorities become even more important as the group gets larger.
10. So, Is Beaches Resorts Worth the Money?
For the right family, Beaches can offer tremendous value.
But that’s an important distinction.
If your children will use Kids Camp, your family loves waterparks and activities, you value having many components included and the destination and room category work within your overall vacation budget, Beaches may make a lot of sense.
If you won’t use many of those amenities?
There may be another resort that’s a better fit.
And we’d rather tell you that than recommend a vacation simply because it’s popular.
